ABOUT TOMBO
Seijiro Mano (Kiyohachi), the founder of Tombo, was born in 1872. He travelled from Takada, Niigata Prefecture, to Tokyo, and after more than ten years of hard work, opened a toy wholesale shop called ‘Koyodo Mano Shokai’ in Ueno, Tokyo, and then began to develop and produce a small accordion using several free-tone reeds as his company's unique toy product. In 1917, the company began production of the harmonica, which was a popular product at the time, and established Tombo Musical Instrument Manufacturing Co.
